Dr Karen Mathew
M.B., B.S, DCH, FRACGP
Karen graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery degree in 2014. She worked at Blacktown Hospital where she gained experience in the fields of nephrology, emergency medicine, general surgery, respiratory medicine, palliative care, geriatrics and intensive care medicine. She subsequently went on to work in general and emergency medicine at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, and completed a Diploma in Child Health, before deciding to pursue a career in General Practice. She completed her fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2019.
Karen has a special interest in skin cancer medicine and women’s health, and has completed a Certificate in Dermoscopy with the Australasian Skin Cancer College, and a Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health with Family Planning NSW. Outside of work, she enjoys baking, travelling, learning the piano, and enjoying the outdoors.
